PSE's Office of Controller team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Accountant II - Energy position!

Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

In this role, the accountant will be primarily responsible for the detailed review of wholesale power transactions under tight deadlines. The person occupying this position will also be responsible for billing and ensuring timely payment according to contract terms. Other duties include performing moderately complex accounting and analysis, preparing journal entries and reconciliations and other tasks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

The accountant will also ensure SOX procedures and controls are being complied with and working according to documentation. Ensuring customer satisfaction and continual improvement of processes are expected.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

• Performs moderately complex accounting, analysis and/or billing functions.
• Prepares moderately complex journal entries and reconciles accounts.
• Evaluates and implements changes related to regulatory and GAAP compliance.
• Participates in the maintenance of the general ledger and/or other automated systems and databases.
• Prepares internal, external, and regulatory financial reports.
• Responds to requests received from management and other departments.
• Participates on special projects/research within the department.
• Complies with internal controls and actively update and test SOX 404 procedures.
• May act as a subject matter expert.

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• 2+ years of directly relevant accounting experience
• Good understanding of GAAP and technical application
• Good ability to effectively analyze and report on financial information
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Strong PC skills (including Excel, Word, Access)

• Experience leading teams or projects
• Experience with SAP
• Certified Public Accountant or candidate
• Certified Management Accountant or candidate
• Advanced Degree
