Job Overview
Senior Financial Analyst to support a portfolio of K–12 private schools. Ensures strong financial performance and alignment by partnering with school leaders to provide clear insights, disciplined planning, and actionable guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary finance partner to a portfolio of schools, building trusted relationships with school leaders and staff.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, guiding stakeholders toward solutions.
- Lead annual budgeting processes for assigned schools, partnering closely with school leadership.
- Develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts (revenue, enrollment, expenses, and cash flow).
- Perform monthly close variance analysis, clearly explaining performance vs. budget and forecast.
- Monitor key drivers such as enrollment, tuition revenue, program margin, and staffing costs.
- Ensure strong financial controls and adherence to organizational policies.
- Support schools in tracking progress toward financial targets and operational goals.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Address parent billing inquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
- Collaborate with school operations and administrative staff on financial matters.
- Provide financial education and guidance to non-finance stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, finance business partnering, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in financial systems.
- Supporting multi‑site operations (education, healthcare, retail, etc.).
- Familiarity with tuition‑based or enrollment‑driven business models.
- Experience working with non‑financial stakeholders.
- Financial Acumen – Deep understanding of financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Business Partnership – Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence – Strong attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strategic Mindset – Ability to connect financial insights to broader business objectives.
- Communication Skills – Clear, concise communicator who can simplify complex topics.
USD $110,000 – $130,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
