Position

Summary

The Operations & Compliance Manager is a broad-mandate, high-ownership role responsible for the firm’s financial operations, regulatory compliance, investor reporting, and day-to-day administration. The position requires both the precision of a finance and compliance professional and the hands‑on ownership of a generalist operator—someone equally comfortable preparing fund-level financial reports and negotiating an office lease.

This person will work closely with firm leadership and the Investment Team, coordinate with a network of external service providers, and serve as the primary operational point of contact for limited partners. The ideal candidate brings an accounting or finance background, sound judgment, and the drive to own complex processes end to end.

Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Own financial reporting in coordination with the external fund accounting administrator, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all fund entities
  • Lead the annual fund audit—managing the timeline, preparing materials, and serving as the day-to-day liaison between the Investment Team and external auditors
  • Coordinate the annual Kroll portfolio valuation process, managing deliverable timelines and serving as the primary liaison between the Investment Team and external valuation advisors
  • Coordinate tax return preparation across the firm’s entities in partnership with external tax advisors
  • Assist in coordinating capital calls and distributions, triaging with external fund administrator to set up wires and ensure timely, accurate movement of capital
  • Prepare timely, high-quality investor reports and respond to LP information requests and due diligence questionnaires
  • Maintain investor due diligence materials, pitch materials, and fundraising collateral; coordinate fundraising activity with the Investment Team
Compliance & Legal
  • Administer the firm’s compliance program in partnership with the external compliance advisor; monitor regulatory developments and flag relevant changes
  • Maintain accurate and complete books and records in support of investment‑adviser obligations
HR & People Operations
  • Oversee all HR functions including benefits administration, payroll, compensation reviews, employee policies, and end-to-end hiring processes
  • Manage relationships with service providers, vendors, and technology subscriptions; evaluate cost and quality on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinate firm insurance renewals and annual coverage reviews
  • Run day-to-day office operations, including banking relationships, facilities management, and lease negotiations
  • Plan and execute firm events and team gatherings
Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or fund operations; asset management or financial services background strongly preferred
  • Experience managing external professional‑services relationships (auditors, tax advisors, compliance consultants, fund administrators)
  • Familiarity with HR operations: benefits, payroll, policies, and hiring
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑party processes end to end with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the range to move between technical finance/compliance work and hands‑on operational tasks
  • Strong written communication skills—able to produce clear investor reports, fundraising materials, and policy documents
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential financial, investor, and personnel information
Preferred
  • Prior experience at a private equity firm, hedge fund, or registered investment adviser
  • Exposure to fund-level financial reporting and LP communications
  • Experience in or supporting investor relations and capital raising, including outreach, materials and responses
