Evergreen Gavekal offers a comprehensive suite of investment services to guide affluent families through the complexities of managing wealth.

The Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in Evergreen's investment evaluation process. This position reports to the Chief Investment Officer and works closely with the broader investment team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy. We seek a professional who is passionate about equity and fixed income markets, demonstrates intellectual curiosity, and is eager to contribute to the firm's investment success.

This is an in-office role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fundamental and quantitative analysis of equities and fixed income securities across various sectors, in public and private markets, providing actionable investment recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to guide portfolio construction, risk management, and asset allocation strategies.
  • Analyze macroeconomic trends, interest rate shifts, and credit market dynamics to provide actionable advice for proactive portfolio positioning.
  • Develop and help maintain models for security valuation, scenario analysis, and fund flows using advanced spreadsheet and statistical techniques.
  • Maintain and enhance databases, ensuring accurate collection and synthesis of research information.
  • Assist with ad hoc research projects and contribute to the development of investment strategies.
  • Exercise independent, discretionary investment decision-making, including final sign-off on fixed income and equity recommendations brought forward by the investment team.
  • Serve as a direct client-facing resource, presenting portfolio strategy and market positioning and addressing client questions on portfolio holdings.
  • Lead due diligence engagements with external managers, representing the firm in manager meetings and negotiations.
  • Mentor and review the work of associate portfolio managers and analysts, providing technical and professional development guidance.
  • Materially influence firm-wide asset allocation strategy and fixed income positioning, including contributions to investment policy or committee discussions.
  • Oversee firm-wide portfolio trading across various custodians and trading platforms, ensuring precision and compliance with investment mandates.
  • Prepare and deliver polished written reports, presentations, and market updates for internal stakeholders and clients.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in investment analysis, fixed income research, or a similar role.
  • High integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate investment insights clearly.
  • Proficiency in digital research tools and financial market analysis.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a deep understanding of risk management and trade execution.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Bloomberg Terminal or other financial data platforms.
  • CFA charter required or near-complete (e.g., Level III candidate).
  • Prior experience in the financial industry, with a solid understanding of fixed income and/or equity markets.
  • Familiarity with performance attribution, fixed income risk modeling, and credit analysis.
Why Join Evergreen?
  • Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-growth investment firm with a collaborative culture.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package, with support for professional development.
  • The ability to make a meaningful impact in a firm that values innovative thinking and intellectual curiosity.
  • This role provides a pathway to senior investment roles within the firm and offers direct exposure to high-level investment decision-making.
