Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION
This position is responsible for assisting assigned physician practice and performing the necessary functions to support patient care, administration, and secretarial functions.
KEYACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supports Medical Executive Assistant of various practices and manages physician’s practice during MEA absences.
- Effectively and efficiently schedules patients, ancillary tests, and operating room in conjunction with policies and protocols including equipment.
- Triages calls, working closely with physician or assigned staff member in responding to all calls in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for contacting insurance carriers for pre-certification.
- Prepares charge tickets related to surgery, ambulatory office visits, and hospital rounds.
- Other support functions as assigned by management.
- BS/BA or 3+ years of related experience within the medical field with private practice or hospital experience.
- Ability to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting physician’s practice when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and additional outside sources.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- EPIC experience.
- Highly committed team player; proactive self-starter; reliable and able to be flexible in a changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task. Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize a variety of office equipment.
- Reliable transportation for traveling to various sites.
- Schedule:
Monday through Friday | First shift (40 hours per week). - Shift: Must be flexible as start times vary based on Physicians. Some days may require start times as early as 6:30am.
- Pay: $21 - $24/hr. based on related experience.
- Pay cycle - weekly
- This full-time position will rotate between local offices in Hartford County at an in-depth training. Employees may be asked to travel up to 2-3 times per week. Locations include Hartford, Manchester, Plainville, Farmington, Rocky Hill, Glastonbury, and Enfield.
