Mental Health Therapist II, III or Licensed - Posting #26359

Hourly Range: $28.68 - $35.35

Position Summary

Sea Mar Behavioral Health is seeking a Full‑time Mental Health Therapist for placement at local Low Income Housing Institute housing program at Aventine Apartments in Bellevue, WA. This is a new housing unit for individual adults seeking stability and opportunities. The therapist will provide individual therapy, case management, crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and may lead groups. They will also coordinate referrals with a diverse team of providers and community partners, accurately diagnose mental health issues, and develop treatment plans based upon diagnoses.

Mental Health Therapist Responsibilities

This individual provides diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, and case management in coordination with other teams or parties involved in treatment. They are responsible for caring for chronically ill patients, those in the Intensive Outpatient Program, or high‑utilizer patients. They work with CDMHPs, inpatient facilities including Western State Hospital, ensuring proper hospitalization authorization and discharge planning. Additional duties include individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment planning, group facilitation, supervision of other clinicians, clinical chart reviews, and support of agency compliance with WACs, RCWs, and clinical contracts.

Education and/or Experience for a Licensed Therapist
  • Must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics.
  • Four or more years of clinical experience in the field.
  • Responsible for continuing education hours and licensing fees.
  • Must possess an active, approved license from the Washington State Department of Health at all times and meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • Must hold and maintain an active Washington State Mental Health Counselor License, Marriage and Family Therapist License, or Independent Clinical Social Worker License.
Additional Requirements
  • Obtain BLS CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current certification throughout employment.
  • Take a TB test annually and at time of hire.
Mental Health Therapist III Responsibilities

The Mental Health Therapist provides diagnostic assessments, referrals for psychiatric services, case management, individual counseling, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment plans, and leads groups. They assist the Program Manager in program development, policy and procedure creation, and compliance with WACs and RCWs.

Education and/or Experience for MHT III
  • Must hold a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, or social work with coursework in psychological diagnostics.
  • Four or more years’ experience in the field.
  • Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • Must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor License or a mental health Associate License (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker). License may be pending for up to 60 days if applied for within 7 days of being offered employment.
Additional Requirements
  • Maintain a current TB test.
