Puget Sound Eye Care is seeking a full-time Optician to join our team. Our practice has two locations in Bellevue and Seattle
, both easily accessible by car and public transportation. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in either office, but this position will primarily be based in our Bellevue location
.

As an Optician, you will play a key role in helping patients select eyewear that fits their prescription, lifestyle, and personal style while delivering a high level of care, service, and support.

We are a well-established optometry practice with 48 years of service to the community
. Our fast-paced office provides a dynamic work environment with a diverse patient base, including a heavy pediatric focus with patients as young as two years old. We also offer specialty care, including scleral lenses, ortho-k lenses, and other specialty contact lens management, giving team members exposure to a broad scope of practice in the optical field.

  • Full-time schedule:
    40 hours per week
    , typically Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays.

What You Will Do
  • Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens treatments based on their prescription, lifestyle, and visual needs.

  • Accurately interpret and fill eyeglass prescriptions.

  • Perform optical measurements, including pupillary distance, segment height, and frame adjustments.

  • Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and premium eyewear products.

  • Dispense, adjust, repair, and troubleshoot eyewear.

  • Verify and quality-check completed eyewear orders.

  • Process eyewear orders and communicate with optical laboratories.

  • Assist with insurance verification, benefit discussions, and claim coordination.

  • Support contact lens training and specialty lens care as needed.

  • Maintain accurate patient and order records.

  • Assist with inventory management, merchandising, and frame displays.

  • Provide excellent customer service and build strong, long-term patient relationships.

What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior optician/optical experience preferred.

  • Experience in an optical, medical, or customer service setting is a plus.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  • Personable, reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office with patients of all ages, including children.

  • Strong sales skills and the ability to help patients understand eyewear options.

  • A team player who enjoys working with others and helping patients feel cared for.
