Job Shift: Day Shift

Purpose

Provide occupational therapy to children with developmental delays and provide caregiver coaching and education on each child’s therapy program to parents and other professionals involved in child’s care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with birth-3-year-old pediatrics to provide therapies and other services
  • Assess each child’s functional motor skills/abilities/challenges; conduct formal evaluations of performance; design and implement treatment plan in Center, home, or community child care as needed; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; seek medical referral, consultation, and advice as necessary; and maintain accurate records of contact for each child
  • Evaluate home, daycare, or school situation through site visits if indicated; educate family/care givers in therapeutic interventions; design and/or assist in developing and ordering adaptive equipment
  • Participate in the development of each child’s total program as part of the interdisciplinary team
  • Coordinate enrollment/transitions into appropriate community or Kindering Center programs, support groups, and other services; coordinate case management meetings with community agencies
  • Assist in supervision of student therapists
  • Facilitate Individual Family Service Plan conference in cooperation with Family Resource Coordinator
  • Provide or support outreach, intensive informing, care planning, coordination, anticipatory guidance for complex health needs, assistance to access services, consultation, resource development, interagency coordination, training, program planning, quality management, and administration to support Medicaid programs
Qualifications Required Education & Experience
  • B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy; master's degree preferred
  • Valid Washington State professional license
  • Looking for additional language proficiency with Spanish preferred
  • Training in neurodevelopmental treatment techniques preferred
  • Experience and comfort with interacting with diverse populations
  • Infant feeding experience highly preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to demonstrate dependability and punctuality

  • Pediatric Occupational Therapy & Early Intervention:

    Skilled in developmental assessments, treatment planning, functional evaluations, adaptive equipment, and infant feeding interventions.
  • Family-Centered Care & Communication:

    Educates and coaches families and caregivers, facilitates IFSP meetings, and provides culturally responsive, compassionate care.
  • Care Coordination &

    Collaboration:

    Works effectively within interdisciplinary teams, coordinates with community agencies and healthcare providers, and manages referrals and transitions.
  • Documentation & Clinical Compliance:

    Maintains accurate clinical records, prepares progress reports, ensures confidentiality, and adheres to regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Professionalism & Teamwork:

    Demonstrates strong collaboration, dependability, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office while supporting student therapists and quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum Prerequisites
  • Possess a valid Washington State DOH OT license or be in process of obtaining one
  • Possess a valid Washington State CPR/First Aid certification or be in process of obtaining one
  • Demonstrate skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word and Excel
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
  • Strictly maintain confidentiality of all client information
  • Maintain valid unexpired proof of identity during employment
  • Pass tuberculosis test
  • Ability to show proof of current immunizations, including COVID-19 and MMR vaccine or titer test*
