OverviewSenior Benefits Specialist responsible for overseeing the comprehensive benefits portfolio and Leave of Absence (LOA) programs. The role balances analytical challenges with empathetic employee support, influencing culture and retention.
Responsibilities- Plan Management & Administration:
Oversee day‑to‑day administration of medical, dental, vision, 401(k), wellness initiatives, and supplemental plans. - Leave of Absence (LOA) Management:
End‑to‑end management of FMLA, short‑term/long‑term disability, parental, state‑mandated leaves, and ADA accommodations from request through return‑to‑work. - Onboarding & New Hire
Experience:
Lead the benefits onboarding experience for all new hires. - Employee Benefits Support:
Primary point of contact for daily employee inquiries, claims resolution, coverage details, and life‑event changes. - Benefit & Payroll Reconciliation:
Partner with Payroll to perform monthly premium reconciliations, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain clean data between HRIS and carriers. - Compensation Planning Support:
Provide analytical support during annual compensation review cycles. - Vendor Relations & Negotiation:
Partner with brokers, insurance carriers, and third‑party leave administrators for renewals and service agreements. - Compliance & Auditing:
Lead annual benefit audits, non‑discrimination testing, and Form 5500 preparation/filing. - Multi‑State Operations:
Ensure benefits compliance and tailored leave laws for a multi‑state workforce. - HRIS Management:
Utilize ADP Workforce Now for enrollments, life events, deductions, leave tracking, and data synchronization. - Open Enrollment &
Education:
Lead strategy, communication, and execution of the annual open enrollment process. - Equity Administration:
Process new hire and termination equity in Carta.
- 3–5 years of benefits administration experience, including direct plan management, auditing, and LOA programs.
- Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now for benefits administration.
- Solid understanding of Form 5500 filings, benefits auditing, and federal/state regulations (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, state‑paid family leave laws).
- Experience managing benefits and leave compliance for employees across multiple states.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications such as CEBS, CLMS, PHR, or SHRM‑CP.
- Advanced Excel & Data Analytics skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in a fast‑paced tech or SaaS environment.
Target cash compensation: $87,930–$108,160 annually, commensurate with experience. Includes base salary, variable commission for eligible roles, and annual bonus targets. All full‑time individuals are eligible for iSpot’s equity plan. Non‑exempt roles may receive overtime pay.
Hybrid & Flexible Workplace PolicyEmployees may work a hybrid schedule with office days in Bellevue, WA or New York, NY, or a fully remote schedule based on location and role responsibilities.
