HR Generalist

Magretech is searching for an HR Generalist to support the Plant location. This position is the conduit for positive employee and management relations and will also be accountable for other human resources responsibilities.

This position administers and coordinates plant policies, helps oversee programs, and manages HR projects. The HR Generalist reports to the HR Director at Magretech.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implements and administers on-going policies, programs, and procedures to foster understanding of and partner with management and supervisors for optimal positive employee relations and retention strategies.
  • Responsible for company-wide communications.
  • Manages all new employee recruitment, orientation, and training.
  • Processes payroll and submits weekly reports.
  • Promotes employee engagement and satisfaction through various initiatives.
  • Supports workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, and succession planning.
  • Helps coach managers on performance management processes, including performance feedback, calibration, and career transitions.
  • Support employee training and development initiatives, including identifying learning needs, designing and delivering programs, and tracking outcomes.
  • Performs HR statistical analysis and prepares reports and communicates data and trends.
  • Responsible for employee benefit enrollments, questions, or inquiries.
  • Other HR related duties, and projects assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years’ relevant experience, preferred.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource systems;
    Internet software;
    Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
    Payroll Database software.
  • Possesses specialized knowledge of HR systems, processes, and procedures, including administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant or warehouse center. The environment will include, at times walking onto the plant production floor where there is weather and non-weather-related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
  • Noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas.
  • Frequently required to sit.
