Aboutthe role
We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Platform/Dev Ops Engineer to join our growing Edge team. In this role, you will focus on the deployment, automation, and operation of our hybrid Azure Local and Kubernetes-based deployments on bare-metal infrastructure. You will support our Galleon mobile data centers and AEP integration, ensuring the reliability and performance of our distributed computing platform across diverse edge locations.
Location:
office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office.
- Deploy and manage Azure Local environments on bare-metal servers across edge data centers.
- Configure and manage Kubernetes clusters across on-prem (Galleon) and cloud (Azure) environments.
- Administer and monitor the health, performance, and capacity of Kubernetes clusters and underlying infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain Kubernetes networking solutions (CNI plugins) and storage solutions (CSI drivers, PV/PVC).
- Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Helm to ensure repeatable and reliable deployments.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash) for scalable infrastructure provisioning.
- Support cluster operations and deployment pipelines to streamline software delivery to the edge.
- Apply Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, Network Policies, and Secrets Management.
- Use Azure Arc to monitor distributed instances and ensure consistent security policies across the fleet.
- Troubleshoot issues related to bare-metal infrastructure, networking, and containerized services while contributing to on-call rotations.
- 5 years of experience in Dev Ops, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience administering production Kubernetes clusters.
- At least 1 year of experience with Azure services (Azure Arc, AKS) or equivalent cloud providers.
- Strong proficiency in Linux administration and system troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting in Python or Bash.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Power Shell for automation.
- Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) on Azure Local/Azure Stack HCI.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
- CKA or CKAD Kubernetes certifications.
$115,200 - $144,000 USD (base salary). This role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits.
