Overview

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Bellevue, WA
. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with Azure Synapse and Fabric, driving end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and performance optimization while enabling seamless Power BI reporting.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $48/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse pipelines, and Microsoft Fabric for batch and incremental data ingestion.
• Develop and maintain lakehouse architectures leveraging One Lake, Azure Storage, and Delta/Parquet formats to support enterprise analytics.
• Perform data transformation and modeling using PySpark, SQL, and Synapse work spaces, delivering curated datasets for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Implement Power BI semantic models and integrations to enable self-service BI, dashboards, and enterprise reporting.
• Ensure data security, governance, and compliance through role-based access, managed identities, and Microsoft Purview policies.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability by analyzing Synapse DMVs, workload management, and automated alerting workflows.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering with strong exposure to Azure-based analytics platforms.
• Proven experience working with Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, ADF, and SQL Server to design and deliver enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, Power BI, and Azure Storage with a solid understanding of data security, governance, and performance optimization.
