The Product Manager at Classmates is responsible for delivering platform and shared product capabilities driving growth through continuous improvement of core features and the launch of new product initiatives. By defining product initiatives and leading development teams to bring those concepts to life, you will make Classmates & People Connect the most trusted place to learn about people.

This role focuses on building, evolving and scaling core systems to ensure platform performance, reuse and deliver measurable customer and business impact. This role requires a product manager with a strong technical foundation who can work across teams, understanding dependencies and making informed decisions on system-level tradeoffs. You will collaborate closely with product, design and development teams to launch those initiatives for our consumers.

Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve roadmap for assigned core platform capabilities (i.e., security, feeds, engagement) and craft and prioritize features and experiences that align with the overall vision and strategy.
  • Understand and manage dependencies across front-end, back-end, services and third-party integrations.
  • Own defined product KPIs and business goals. Maintain a culture of data obsession, ensuring all decisions are data‑backed and products have clearly defined and measurable measures of success.
Customer Insight
  • Champion the voice of the customer through research, analytics and direct feedback.
  • Have a good understanding of UX interaction and design and incorporating it into product development and partner with design to deliver high‑quality releases.
Execution and Delivery
  • Work closely with engineers, design & BA to execute specs into successful products (write user stories and acceptance criteria).
  • Participate in discovery and technical reviews to validate requirements and assess tradeoffs.
  • Support post‑launch performance, addressing technical or functional issues and optimize based on data (A/B testing).
  • Prioritize and resolve technical & functional issues as well as optimize for maximum impact using continued analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Identify and manage stakeholder feedback integrating it into key product decisions.
  • Communicate platform capabilities, constraints, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Document decisions and share learnings to support alignment across teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years product management or equivalent experience in providing consumer‑facing digital products at scale across web, mobile web and app.
  • Experience owning or partnering on platform and system‑level products, including APIs and shared services.
  • Proven ability to deliver and growing products through iterative delivery, including launching new features, improving engagement and running A/B experiments.
  • Experience creating lightweight prototypes or wireframes to support discovery and iteration (i.e. Figma, Loveable, Base
    44).
  • Experience in an Agile and/or Lean development environment, ability to break work down into minimal marketable features and work collaboratively with engineers and designers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, business analysis and planning skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Organized with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Nice to have:
    Experience working with or building social graph‑based systems (identity, relationships, feeds, messaging, or recommendations).
  • Nice to have:
    Exposure to AI‑ or ML‑enabled features (e.g., recommendations, content generation, computer vision), with the ability to translate model capabilities into product requirements.
Education/Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of modern front‑end frameworks such as React and mobile frameworks such as React Native, and frontend service layers such as Node and Graph

  • Data analysis (formulas, graphs, high level modeling and reporting).
  • BS/BA or equivalent, MBA a plus.
