This role is accountable for turning ambiguous, multi‑year autonomy bets into shippable, safe, and scalable systems, while navigating vendor dependencies, hardware and software constraints, regulatory considerations, and aggressive timelines.
You will operate at the intersection of autonomy technology, hardware platforms, data infrastructure, safety, and last‑mile operations, influencing decisions that materially impact Amazon’s long‑term delivery roadmap.
Own the multi‑year Autonomous Vehicle program roadmap, including milestones across simulation, data collection, autonomy capability maturity, safety validation, and production rollout.

Serve as the single‑threaded program owner for engagements with external AV vendors, OEMs, and technology partners.
- Drive alignment on scope, interfaces, timelines, ownership boundaries, and success metrics across Amazon and partner teams.
- Identify and proactively manage vendor risks (technology maturity, schedule slips, dependency coupling, IP boundaries, resourcing gaps).
- Lead technical deep dives and executive‑level reviews with partners to unblock progress and resolve escalations.
Orchestrate execution across Amazon teams including autonomy engineering, hardware, safety, data infrastructure, operations, legal, finance, procurement, and corporate development.
- Drive decision‑making under ambiguity, balancing speed, safety, cost, and long‑term platform flexibility.
- Ensure program plans reflect real‑world constraints such as vehicle availability, sensor and compute readiness, regulatory timelines, and operational readiness.
Partner with Safety and Engineering teams to ensure autonomy systems meet Amazon’s safety bar for supervised and unsupervised operations.
- Drive readiness reviews covering technical performance, operational SOPs, incident response, and scaling risks.
- Ensure learnings from pilots and field deployments are systematically fed back into roadmap updates and vendor plans.
Communicate crisply with senior leadership (VP/S‑Team level), surfacing trade‑offs, risks, and recommendations with data‑backed clarity.
- Write high‑quality narratives, reviews, and decision docs that shape Amazon’s AV strategy and investment priorities.
- Influence without authority across org boundaries and partner companies.
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
