Helping companies connect with great people | Recruiter | Tech | Candidate Advocate | PNW |LHH is looking for a Network Security Engineer to protect and improve our client's critical infrastructure. This person would be responsible for securing our client's networks, responding to cybersecurity incidents, monitoring and maintaining a Cisco switching environment, troubleshooting next-gen firewalls, and creating change management processes for network equipment among other duties
Responsibilities
- Oversee network resources and connectivity of physical and virtual servers and workstations
- Oversee connectivity to external providers such as ISPs, private fiber providers, and local infrastructure
- Oversee internal VoIP systems
- Routinely back up device configurations and document all changes
- Oversee cybersecurity infrastructure and maintain a secure environment against all forms of cybersecurity attacks.
- Ensure integrity and availability of system logs from all network hardware
- Participate in the application of Security Awareness training to the organization
- Understand and apply published methodologies for network and security monitoring
- Deploy critical patches while maintaining high availability
- Manage and update the agency’s Incident Response Plan
- Maintain and operate PaaS and SaaS cloud-based systems including Azure, Amazon AWS, and Google Cloud
- Be reliable, dependable, and consistently report to work. Always demonstrate a positive professional demeanor
- Liaise with vendors, partners, and external agencies
Requirements:
- 6+ years experience in computer networking
- BS degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
- Strong experience with CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls
- Maintain a strong understanding of cybersecurity
- Experience implementing and maintaining high-availability systems in an organization classified as Critical Infrastructure
- Intimate knowledge of IPv4, Ipv6 and VLSM
- Experience implementing LAN-to-LAN and Remote Access VPNs
- Experience with Desktop and Server technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server , Windows 10/11, Linux/Unix
- Experience with virtualization using VMWare, ESXi and vCenter
- VoIP technologies, including SIP, Skinny, H.323, and RTSP
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) version 4, and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) versions 2 and 3 routing protocols
- Ability to clearly present technical information to a non-technical audience
