About the Role
As our Senior Security Engineer, you will be the owner of infrastructure security ’ll work directly with the CTO and engineering team to evaluate, harden, and scale our cloud environment. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll balance speed and security in a modern, AI‑enabled product environment. You’ll be responsible not only for protecting what exists today, but for designing systems and practices that will support Deposely as we scale customers, data, and compliance requirements.
WhatYou’ll Do Security & Compliance
- Audit our existing GCP infrastructure for security risks and vulnerabilities
- Design and implement best practices for a SOC 2 and HIPAA‑compliant environment
- Review code deployment that has security implications
- Own cloud security posture, identity and access management, and secrets handling
- Partner with leadership on security strategy, risk mitigation, and compliance readiness
- Work closely with application engineers to bake security into development workflows
- Establish guardrails that allow teams to move fast without compromising security
- Document systems, decisions, and best practices for a growing engineering org
- 5+ years of experience in Security Engineering roles
- Hands‑on experience securing GCP environments
- Experience securing enterprise applications, including authentication protocols, API security, and vulnerability management
- Experience leading or meaningfully contributing to SOC 2 and/or HIPAA compliance efforts
- Experience integrating security tooling into CI/CD pipelines (SAST, secrets scanning, etc.)
- Experience with security monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows
- Experience working with AI/agentic tools (Gemini, Anthropic, or OpenAI) to build and secure environments. Not just as features, but as part of how you work
- Ability to think proactively about threat models, not just reactive fixes
- Comfortable working closely with founders and influencing technical direction
- Ability to thrive in early‑stage environments where ownership matters
- Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (like Pulumi) to audit and enforce secure configurations
- Experience supporting AI or data‑heavy platforms
- Experience working at a high‑growth SaaS company before
- Prior experience in an early‑stage startup
- Familiarity with legal, healthcare, or other regulated domains
