Position Objective
Under limited supervision, The TSS III provides senior level help desk support and technology implementation services for county employees. He/she is expected to be a role model and mentor for the IS Technical Support staff. The TSS III’s primary responsibilities include technology planning activities, developing specifications for RFP’s, help desk problem resolution, assisting Technical Support Specialists with technology implementation/support, and project management of technology projects for their assigned County departments.
TSSIII Distinguishing Characteristics
This position requires advanced information technology skills, providing technical services and assistance to Information Services staff and County department staff. In addition to County-wide technical support responsibilities, the TSS III provides planning and implementation services for small to mid-sized County departments. Although the TSS II and TSS III positions share common duties such help desk support, technology implementation and project management, the TSS III is also assigned primary support responsibility for specific County departments.
The TSS III identifies opportunities for the effective use of technology within their assigned departments.

A four year college degree in a computer science related field and at least one year of progressively related experience; OR a minimum of 9 years equivalent experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Plus FactorsPrevious paid work experience in supporting with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems; previous experience in a consulting or supporting role for LAN/WAN computing environments, experience with providing technical support for PC based computing environments; and previous experience in a Help Desk or computer support role.

Starting Salary Range$18.6550-$21.0025/hourly (Grade 18, Non-union position)
Full Salary Range$18.6550-$26.8279/hourly (Grade 18, Non-union position)
Hours of WorkMonday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and occasional evening and weekends as required.
