Job Description Summary

The power grid is becoming increasingly complex, driven by the growth of renewable energy, evolving security threats, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events. GE Vernova's GridOS platform provides modern software tools that help utilities orchestrate this complexity while driving reliability and resilience.

The Software Integration & Deployment Engineer plays a hands‑on role in bringing these capabilities to utility customers. This position supports the deployment, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of GridOS Plan solutions in customer environments, working with Kubernetes‑based applications, Linux systems, and customer technical teams to deliver stable, accurate, and reliable implementations. The position combines software deployment, systems integration, data troubleshooting, scripting, documentation, and customer collaboration.

Where applicable, this role also supports deployment automation, CI/CD practices, and release validation.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in technically diverse customer environments, picking up domain‑specific workflows quickly, and contributing flexibly across implementation activities as project and customer needs evolve. This role may require periodic travel to customer sites, estimated at up to 6 weeks per year.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and validate GridOS Plan solutions using Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized services.
  • Support implementations across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, networking, and Linux system issues.
  • Work with customer IT and application teams to support installation and integration activities.
  • Investigate data quality issues involving telemetry, GIS, weather, asset, or operational data.
  • Support integrations using REST APIs, messaging, middleware, and file‑based exchanges.
  • Develop or maintain data workflows, integration utilities, or scripts as needed.
  • Support deployment automation, CI/CD practices, and release validation where applicable.
  • Document deployment steps, data flows, interface mappings, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation efficiency and standardize repeatable practices.
  • Provide clear updates and technical issue summaries to internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent demonstrated experience in software deployment or systems integration.
  • 2+ years of experience with system integrations and software development using REST APIs, messaging, middleware, or file‑based exchange.
  • Experience developing scripts, modules, or tools with Python, Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting software deployments in Linux‑based environments.
  • Experience with Kubernetes‑based or containerized applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with Helm charts and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Linux command‑line tools, logs, and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
  • Familiarity with GIS data, asset management systems, or data validation workflows.
  • Exposure to utility software environments such as EMS, ADMS, SCADA, or grid planning tools.
  • Background in power systems, grid analytics, or related energy software.
  • Strong documentation discipline and experience standardizing procedures or workflows.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and domain‑specific workflows quickly.
