Job Overview

The D365 CE/IT Director plays a critical role in shaping and executing the organisation’s long‑term technology strategy in alignment with its mission and priorities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role leads the IT function and is responsible for infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and data management. This is a strategic leadership position requiring someone who can drive innovation while ensuring reliable day‑to‑day IT operations.

The Managing Director will guide the use of cloud platforms, data, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance internal operations and member services. The role also serves as a key advisor to senior leadership on technology investments, risks, and opportunities.

You will lead a team of 6 across D365 CE, Azure, Cybersecurity, and General IT functions, delivering IT transformation strategy and operational excellence across the organisation.

Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with organisational goals
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring technology supports operational and member-facing priorities
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, including responsible AI and automation adoption
  • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability within the IT team
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, service, and continuous improvement
Technology & Innovation
  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools
  • Guide responsible AI governance, risk management, and usage standards
  • Partner with internal teams to enhance systems and workflows
  • Ensure new solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs
Infrastructure & Systems Management
  • Oversee IT infrastructure including Azure cloud environments, networking, and endpoint management (MDM, ATP)
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and security across all systems
  • Direct management of enterprise applications including Microsoft Dynamics 365, E-Index, and data integration platforms
  • Maintain inventory of all materially significant technical equipment
Data & Enterprise Applications
  • Develop and govern data strategy to strengthen analytics and reporting
  • Ensure data integrity and integration across enterprise systems
  • Partner with departments to align technology with operational requirements
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
  • Lead cybersecurity program aligned with NIST/CIS frameworks
  • Oversee risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Conduct annual penetration testing and vulnerability assessments
  • Lead annual tabletop cybersecurity incident exercises
  • Manage third-party and vendor security considerations
Vendor & Financial Management
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Establish technology procurement standards
  • Develop and manage the IT budget to optimise performance and cost-efficiency
Additional Responsibilities
  • Oversee technical integration of all software applications
  • Partner with business owners on procurement and compliance with development standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Experience
  • 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 CE)
  • Proven experience leading IT strategy and digital transformation initiatives
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, cloud platforms (Azure), and enterprise data management
  • Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams (5 professionals)
  • Expertise in cybersecurity risk management and compliance frameworks (NIST/CIS)
  • Experience with in association, membership, government, or public sector environments is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
Salary/Package
  • Up to 185,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Hybrid working – 3 days in office, 2 days remote
  • 20 days PTO
