Data Analyst
Amazon Freight is a startup business within Amazon focused on developing an industry‑leading transportation offering. The goal is to provide external freight customers with access to the world‑class network and freight services currently used to facilitate Amazon’s own freight movements. Our portfolio ensures freight is moved with the highest level of service and quality at a competitive price across multiple modes of transportation, including truckload, less‑than‑truckload, and intermodal.
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights for Amazon Freight. The ideal candidate has strong technical and analytical skills, enjoys building a new business, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance.
- Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements.
- Apply expertise in data mining and modeling, leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models.
- Work backwards from end‑customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- 2+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, No
SQL, etc. - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
- Experience with industry analytics visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Quick Sight, Micro Strategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (t‑test, Chi‑squared).
- Experience with a scripting language (Python, Java, or R).
- Master’s degree or advanced technical degree.
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.
- Experience with statistical analysis and correlation analysis.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
