Job Description

The IT Audit Supervisor assists the IT Audit Manager in overseeing and directing the technology-focused audits of the Internal Audit Plan. This position is responsible for ensuring that established information technology related controls are designed and operated effectively and also includes assisting with integrated audits where IT controls impact financial, operational, and compliance practices. The IT Audit Supervisor is responsible for creating and executing appropriate audit programs, directing staffing resources, generating final audit reports for internal and regulatory agency review, and conducting follow-up audits on previously identified issues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Direct the activities of the IT Audit staff including execution of the audit plan, evaluation of the adequacy of the company’s internal control environment, scheduling and planning audits, initiating project planning, assessing risk, and developing audit direction.
  • Manage performance of audit assignments, review work papers and audit reports, and edit reports prepared by other auditors.
  • Assist in preliminary planning and establish direction for audits, provide leadership to assigned auditors, manage projects to quality outcomes while meeting established time budgets.
  • Supervise and perform audit work, including plan preparation, work papers, findings, and associated reports that reflect the audit results.
  • Provide advisory support for major IT initiatives, system implementations, or process changes when requested while maintaining independence.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
  • Assist in the performance of the annual internal audit risk assessment for use in the development of the internal audit plan, ensuring IT audit coverage adequately addresses high‑risk and emerging technology areas, including cybersecurity, cloud computing, data governance, SDLC, and business continuity.
  • Stay abreast of company policies and procedures, current developments in IT and auditing professions, and changes in local, state, and federal laws as applicable.
  • Effectively manage resources and stakeholder requirements to achieve annual goals.
  • Supervise day‑to‑day activities of the IT Audit Staff and promote a work environment that is fair, equitable, and provides feedback.
  • Train new staff as needed.
  • Assist in setting goals and expectations for staff members and hold staff accountable for successful performance.
  • Coaching the team by providing specific feedback to improve performance and conduct annual performance appraisals for the internal audit staff in coordination with other audit managers and/or supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Maintain frequent contact with executive and senior management, department heads, supervisors, independent public accountants, and occasionally with the bank’s regulators during examinations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Professional certification such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CIA, and/or CPA is strongly preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of eight years of IT audit, IT experience, and/or financial institution internal audit experience.
  • Proficiency in IT controls (access, change management, operations), cybersecurity, privacy and governance is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, COBIT, and FFIEC and emerging risks is required.
  • Knowledge of auditing standards, procedures and related techniques is required.
  • Must possess prior experience using automated work papers.
  • Proficient in all MS Office products.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with various levels of staff and management.
  • Display a strong level of integrity, ethics, analytical skills, and the ability to evaluate data to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to enhance personal, professional, and business growth through new knowledge and experiences.
