Job Summary
Amazon Web Services is seeking Applied Scientists to drive innovation with Gen AI to create best‑in‑the‑world experiences for customers across all AWS services. The role focuses on building Agentic AI systems, fine‑tuning large language models for domain‑specific use cases, reinforcement learning, automated cloud optimization, and deriving strategic insights from large datasets. You will lead the end‑to‑end development of AI solutions that transition from concept to production.
Key ResponsibilitiesWhile specific day‑to‑day tasks are not detailed, the position requires leading the design and implementation of AI technologies that directly impact AWS customers, building prototypes, and collaborating across cross‑functional teams to launch production systems.
Basic Qualifications- PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML or related field
- 3+ years of building models for business applications
- Experience with patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journals
- Programming experience in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience in algorithms & data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, or high‑performance computing
- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Professional software development experience
Base salary: $ – $ USD annually (location: USA, WA, Bellevue).
