Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Support Team – Dev Ops Engineer

The Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Support Team is looking for a Dev Ops engineer who will join the team that supports all software applications responsible for shipment, item availability, customer promises, shipment optimization, and other functions related to fulfillment services processes. The engineer will use problem‑resolving skills to benefit customers directly and help Amazon meet all its commitments. Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues;

developing monitoring solutions; performing software maintenance and configuration; implementing fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, Java); performing SQL queries; updating, tracking, and resolving technical challenges; building and developing tools that automate daily operational activities. The role also involves working alongside development on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, updating and enhancing current software, automating support processes, and documenting systems.

The ideal candidate will consistently hit the ground running, learn quickly, handle multiple overlapping tasks, and coordinate with multiple Development, Operations, and IT Support groups on high‑impact production issues. They must identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages, accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, improve the customer experience, and deliver results.

• 4+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience
• Experience scripting in modern programming languages
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
• Experience with agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow
• Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings

• Knowledge of distributed or enterprise applications
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating system
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting RESTful web API calls
