Senior Director, IT Enterprise Architecture

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non-profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Formed as the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a separate non-profit membership organization tax-exempt under section 501(c)(4).

The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a hands-on and strategic Senior Director, Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture. This role reports to the Vice President, Tech Strategy and Architecture in the Information Technology department of PPFA.

The IT Enterprise Architecture is a discipline for proactively and holistically identifying, analyzing, and optimizing information, technology, and processes into an integrated environment that is responsive to change and supportive of the delivery of PPFA’s business strategy.

The role of the Enterprise Architect is to enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer‑term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore, the enterprise architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices.

• Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the PPFA business strategy.
• Supports all enterprise architectural disciplines (Data, Application, Infrastructures) and champions architectural initiatives.
• Reviews existing business processes and establishes metrics to improve business processes, as well as supports all architectural disciplines under their direction.
• Leads programs to develop, maintain, and govern the enterprise architecture across the organization.
• Works on highly complex projects that require in‑depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains.
• Leads the EA review board and ensures that the solutions are compliant with target‑state architecture models.
• Aligns architecture strategy with business goals and leads teams in developing technology plans.
• Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements as needed for the organization.
• Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Directs the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry, and market trends.
• Ensures recommendations are based on business relevance, appropriate timing, and deployment.
