Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Bilingual Customer Service & Language Specialist to join our team in Bellevue, WA. The role combines real‑time over‑the‑phone and video remote interpretation services with administrative support.
Position Details- Title: Bilingual Customer Service & Language Specialist (W‑2)
- Location: Onsite, Bellevue, WA
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (PST) or 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (PST)
- Employment Type: Full‑time, W‑2
- Languages Needed: Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Dari, Farsi, Spanish, Thai, Arabic
- Pay Range: $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr
- Benefits: Full benefits package, including medical insurance
- Deliver real‑time OPI/VRI interpretation services in English and a second language.
- Assist interpreters with profile and documentation updates.
- Maintain current interpreter records and compliance.
- Communicate professionally with interpreters and internal teams.
- Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Coordinate interpreter assignments, efficiently manage schedules, and ensure timely fulfillment of client requests.
- Proactively troubleshoot scheduling issues, providing timely solutions.
- Strong bilingual proficiency in English and a second language.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative documentation.
- Ability to work full‑time, on‑site (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM PST or 8:30 AM‑5:30 PM PST).
- Prior interpretation experience preferred.
- Medical DSHS or national interpreter certification/qualification (e.g., NBCMI, CCHI, Other) is a plus (support provided for those seeking DSHS medical recognition).
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customer service, scheduling, recruiting, onboarding, interpretation, or translation.
- Full‑time, on‑site position based at our Bellevue, WA corporate office.
- Remote work is not permitted.
- Candidates must pass a full‑panel drug and alcohol screening and a national criminal background check.
- Up to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
