About the Role: Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and professional Bilingual Customer Service & Language Specialist (Dari/Farsi/Persian) to join our team. This dual‑role position combines real‑time over‑the‑phone and video remote interpretation (OPI/VRI) services with administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, communicative, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities- Deliver real‑time OPI/VRI interpretation services in Dari/Farsi/Persian and English.
- Assist interpreters with completing and updating profiles and documentation.
- Follow up with interpreters to ensure records are current and compliant.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with interpreters and internal teams.
- Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Coordinate interpreter assignments, efficiently manage schedules, and ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of client requests.
- Maintain interpreter account records, updating information related to assignments, availability, and billing accurately.
- Proactively troubleshoot scheduling issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Dari/Farsi/Persian.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative documentation.
- Ability to work full‑time, on‑site (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM PST).
- Prior interpretation experience preferred.
- Medical DSHS or national interpreter certification/qualification (e.g., NBCMI, CCHI, Other) is a plus (support provided for those seeking DSHS Medical recognition).
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customer service, scheduling, recruiting, onboarding, interpretation, or translation.
- This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at our Bellevue, WA corporate office.
- Remote work is not permitted.
- Candidates must pass a full‑panel drug and alcohol screening and a national criminal background check.
- Up to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
