Buyer - Buyer III
We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join a team focused on building partnerships to create consistency and scalability across a future network. This role involves developing and executing category sourcing strategies, delivering savings, and improving productivity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a creative critical thinker, and a motivated learner with strong communication skills who can build processes from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category sourcing strategies for equipment and components that form the overall MHE system or sub-systems.
- Lead cross-functional sourcing events, negotiate with suppliers, and execute contracts.
- Manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and business units.
- Drive supplier performance management, focusing on transparency, quality, and innovation.
- Collaborate with global and local teams to deploy and manage the implementation of defined strategies.
- Influence suppliers' roadmaps, design, processes, and technology decisions.
- Lead complex projects to drive productivity and innovation within the category.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices to inform category strategies.
- Develop and maintain category-specific metrics and reporting to track performance and savings.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field, with a focus on equipment, industrial automation/robotics, CAPEX or similar complex categories is required. This includes proven experience in developing and executing category sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. Experience building procurement and supply chain processes from scratch is also necessary.
Skills:
Candidates must have cost modeling experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with procurement tools and technologies, such as e-sourcing platforms and contract management systems, is required. Experience working with technical teams on new product development is also necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA or advanced degree.
- Experience in the MHE industry, with an understanding of equipment procurement processes.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
