Plantman Equipment is seeking a dedicated and detail orientated Purchasing Officer to join our team in Bellevue, WA. In this full-time role, you’ll be a vital support to our skilled mechanics and customers, ensuring they always have the right parts to maintain and optimize our machinery. Your expertise will help drive efficiency, minimise downtime, and contribute to the reliability of our operations.

• Reporting to the Company Accountant, the Purchasing Officer/Parts Interpreter will support the procurement and expediting process for the supply of goods/services to the workshop and site.
• Processing orders in the system and allocation to jobs.
• Maintain a deep understanding of our extensive inventory and the specific parts required for various equipment models.
• Parts ordering/supply and invoicing for customer sales.
• Identify cost-competitive and reliable supplies of materials.
• Ensure all materials are ordered and received according to specification.
• Monitor and determine appropriate freight needs and expedite supply to site.
• Workshop job costing maintenance.
• Reviewing expediting reports and chasing supply.
• Assist in the maintenance of supply databases and catalogue.
• Support purchasing and strategic sourcing initiatives activities.
• Ensure correct costing of materials.
• Identify and support supply process improvements.
• Support resolution of procurement issues, queries and discrepancies.
• Assist with inventory management, recommending improvements to reduce downtime and optimise stock levels.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, handling inquiries and processing orders promptly and professionally.
• Support contract and supplier management to ensure company objectives are met.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure timely part availability.
• Stay ahead of industry trends, product advancements, and new parts releases to enhance your expertise and contribute to business growth.
• Build strong relationships with trusted suppliers to ensure smooth and efficient supply chain operations.

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing, transport, or logistics industries.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to quickly understand equipment specifications and part compatibility.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Highly organised with attention to detail, able to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and computer-based order processing.
