Could you be the full-time onsite Lead Buyer in Bellevue we’re looking for?

As the Lead Buyer at Alstom, you will lead end-to-end sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance across a multi-project, multi-site portfolio, consolidating demand to leverage scale and deliver QCDT outcomes from bid through ramp-up. You will deploy commodity strategies, lead multi-project negotiations and frame agreements, ensure contract execution, and drive supplier performance and quality while proactively managing supply risk. Governing the supplier panel and compliance requirements, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams and provide functional leadership and best-practice standardization to site/project buyers to achieve savings, TCO improvements, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Your

future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your strategic procurement and negotiation expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, dedicated, and collaborative team members. You'll shape the future of procurement strategies by preparing and launching Request for Quotation with suppliers and ensure our projects align with Australian Standards. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Engineering, Quality Control, and Finance), support commodity strategy and panel elaboration, and much more.

We’ll

look to you to:
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance management across all projects delivered by Alstom Australia, spanning multiple sites,
  • Deploy and localise commodity strategies to the Australian context; ensure robust supplier panel governance and contract coverage across the project portfolio,
  • Ensuring alignment with commodity strategies,
  • Drive Quality, Cost, Delivery and Technical (QCDT) performance and mitigate risk during bid, development, industrialisation, ramp-up, and serial phases,
  • Provide functional leadership to site and project buyers; standardise best practices, tools, and KPIs across sites,
  • Promote and enforce Alstom’s Code of Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and compliance standards.
All About You

  • Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
  • Experience or understanding of strategic procurement processes and strategies,

  • Progress towards becoming a key player in global sourcing and commodities expertise
