Senior Program Manager, Workplace Health & Safety – Contractor Safety

• Own and drive safety programs from inception through implementation.
• Own safety‑related projects and deliver actions, including writing narrative papers for executive leadership.
• Assess contractor high‑risk operations such as work at heights, hazardous energy, and lifting & rigging, and implement strategies to minimize risk.
• Serve as a trusted safety partner to senior regional leaders across North America, aligning on strategic priorities and tracking progress against goals.
• Conduct regular site visits to Amazon warehouse locations to observe safety practices, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Utilize insights from site visits to develop and update safety standards, protocols, and training materials.
• Lead comprehensive incident investigations, rapidly identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Procurement, Construction, and other teams to scale successful safety initiatives and embed sustainable improvements.
• Monitor safety metrics, analyze trends, and present recommendations to senior leadership on priorities and investment areas.

• Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level.
• Experience prioritizing and managing time effectively in dynamic environments.
• Experience solving complex problems quantitatively and developing actionable data‑driven business recommendations.
• Experience owning the development and implementation of contractor safety programs.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

• 6+ years of program or project management experience.
• Experience owning program strategy and communicating results to senior leadership.
• Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
• 5+ years of increasing responsibility in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, environmental, or equivalent field of study.
• Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) fluency.

Salary range: $115,600 – $160,000 USD annually (Arlington, VA).
