What You Will Do:

Nature Bridge in Olympic National Park has been in operation since 1987. The Olympic campus is one of four campuses that operate Nature Bridge programs. The Campus Director serves as the senior leader of Nature Bridge's Olympic campus, responsible for advancing our mission, leading a high-performing team, stewarding critical partnerships, and ensuring exceptional educational experiences for thousands of students each year.

The CD oversees an annual budget of $3 million, a campus staff of 30 and partners with a regional board of directors to advance Nature Bridge’s vision, mission and goals within the context of the campus’ staff and programs and unique location on the Olympic Peninsula and in Washington state. The Campus Director is a member of Nature Bridge's senior leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping organizational strategy, culture, partnerships, and growth.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead one of the nation's premier environmental education programs in one of America's most iconic national parks. Every year, approximately 4,000 guests, including students, teachers, and chaperones, event participants visit Nature Bridge Olympic. The Campus Director plays a critical role in shaping these experiences while leading a talented team, stewarding key partnerships, and advancing environmental education in one of America's most remarkable national parks.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Campus Leadership and General Administration

Provide strong, dynamic leadership for the campus and staff; serve as overall point person for the campus

Represent Nature Bridge as the voice and face of the campus

Ensure campus operations are efficient and effective in providing safe, quality programming and customer service

Lead the Olympic campus leadership team; coordinate and collaborate on needs, responsibilities and communications for programs, campus and staff

Directly supervise the Operations, Facilities and Hospitality and Food Service teams

Ensure the Nature Bridge purpose, mission and values are emulated, and drive campus operations and experience

Foster and maintain a positive campus culture and staff working relationships

Work with National Sales, Education, Operations and Development leads to offer feedback and support to those departments’ staff on campus

Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the National Park Service as well as supporting agencies and partners

Manage and monitor assigned campus budget line items and operating plan; provide input and develop assumptions on campus budget line items as needed

Drive, coordinate, and oversee implementation of significant capital projects, including coordination with NPS and other partners, vendors and staff as needed

Manage and monitor National Park Cooperative Agreement including compliance and reporting and project management; oversee agreement renewal as needed

Lead and manage local/community programs (e.g., Family Camp) including sales and marketing, staffing, risk management, operations and education program delivery

Provide strategic thought partnership as part of the senior leadership team

Participate in developing organization-wide policy; practice and support organization initiatives
