CrewSELECT is proud to partner with one of Western Australia s leading passenger rail maintenance providers to recruit an experienced Fleet Manager
. This is a rare opportunity to lead critical rolling stock maintenance operations, ensuring fleet reliability, safety and operational performance across one of WA s largest rail networks. The role will initially be based at Nowergup before transitioning to the client s new Bellevue facility in early 2027
.
Working closely with the General Manager and operational leadership team, you ll be responsible for leading maintenance teams, driving fleet availability, overseeing contract performance and fostering a high-performing safety culture.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of rolling stock maintenance operations, ensuring fleet reliability, contract compliance and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading maintenance operations to maximise fleet availability and reliability
- Managing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
- Driving safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Leading and developing supervisors, maintenance personnel and support teams
- Coordinating maintenance, engineering, planning and operational resources
- Monitoring KPIs, budgets and contract performance
- Managing reporting, stakeholder engagement and customer relationships
- Supporting mobilisation and operational transition to the Bellevue facility
- Ensuring compliance with Rail Safety legislation, maintenance standards and contractual obligations
About You
To be successful, you ll bring:
- Previous leadership experience within rail, transport, heavy industry, maintenance or asset management
- Strong people leadership and team development skills
- Experience managing maintenance operations and operational performance
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing KPIs, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience using maintenance or asset management systems
- Understanding of Rail Safety legislation (highly regarded)
- Relevant engineering, technical or trade qualification (desirable)
- Current C Class Driver s Licence
