Internal) Manager, Grid Operations

Initial Assignment:
In this role, the Manager, Grid Operations will initially support a long-term, high-impact engagement with a major utility client in Northern California. The following responsibilities and experiences are specific to this initial assignment:

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client operational and executive leadership, fostering collaboration and alignment on strategic priorities.
• Serve as a key liaison between Mosaic and the client, participating in leadership meetings, project discussions, and operational planning sessions.
• Represent the Vice President, Grid Operations in client meetings and discussions as needed, ensuring consistent communication, timely follow-up, and alignment with project objectives.
• Lead the day-to-day activities of assigned Grid Operations resources, including Grid Operations Instructional Experts (GOIEs), ensuring work is prioritized, client commitments are met, and project deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to assigned team members.
• Coordinate complex training programs and operational initiatives across multiple control centers, dispatch organizations, and operational work groups.
• Lead and collaborate with geographically dispersed teams while balancing client priorities, operational schedules, resource needs, and project commitments.
• Monitor project status, client satisfaction, resource needs, risks, and emerging concerns, proactively communicating issues and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Mosaic leadership to ensure successful client delivery while supporting strategic growth initiatives and identifying opportunities to expand client value and services.
• Identify emerging client needs, operational challenges, and future opportunities, collaborating with the Vice President, Grid Operations and client leadership to develop solutions that improve outcomes and strengthen long-term relationships.
• Develop strong relationships with utility leadership and effectively partner with executive stakeholders to support strategic business objectives.
• Up to 90% travel to California.

Position Overview

The Manager, Grid Operations has dual responsibility for both leadership and coaching of Grid Operations resources and fulfilling billable hours for project work.

The Manager, Grid Operations oversees and provides support to Grid Operations team members focused on the advanced training of electric system operations. The Manager, Grid Operations is responsible for stepping into various roles on a client project and may be involved in front-end analysis, reviewing and consulting on as-is job responsibilities, on-the-job performance, work processes, and developing recommendations to improve operational performance.

The position supports the design and development of training and evaluations for customers alongside Instructional Designers.

The Manager, Grid Operations partners with the Vice President, Grid Operations to support team culture, provide timely feedback, and support the professional development of team members. The Manager is viewed as a trusted resource by the internal team, leadership, and clients.

• Provides day-to-day support to team members and proactively finds solutions that address concerns.
