This Team Lead - Production Operations Technician plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing environment while consistently meeting throughput, quality standards and delivery targets.

This role provides leadership support on the production floor by guiding team members, assisting with training, and driving adherence to standard work and safety protocols. The Team Lead actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives, including optimizing procedures, improving first-pass yield, and enhancing overall team performance.

The Team Lead - Production Operations Technician also collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations teams to resolve constraints, improve product reliability, and support on-time delivery. This includes coordinating information and resources across internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment with business objectives.

This role reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing & Operations.

This is an onsite, day shift role and will be part of our Sea-Bird Scientific Manufacturing & Operations Team in our Bellevue, WA location.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

* Lead and support daily production activities to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency targets are met.

* Train, mentor, and motivate team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

* Perform and oversee assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing of production units according to established procedures and drawings.

* Coordinate with engineering, quality, and planning teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.

* Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and ensure proper resource allocation across production lines.

* Maintain accurate production documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.

* Support cross-training and skill development within the team to increase flexibility and operational resilience.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* A minimum of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent work experience.

It would be an asset if you have:

* Strong technical background in electronics assembly, testing, or calibration.

* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.

* Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

* Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work hands-on while managing team priorities and deadlines.

* Commitment to continuous improvement and team development.
