Production QC/QA, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Sea-Bird Scientific Production Lead
Location:
Bellevue, WA (onsite, day shift, Monday‑Friday). Overtime and weekends may be required. The Production Lead reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing & Operations.
- Own daily management processes, QDIP performance, workforce planning, and area performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
- Coach and develop associates through delegation, performance feedback, capability building, and succession planning to strengthen team effectiveness.
- Perform and oversee assembly, soldering, wiring, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and verification of production units in accordance with established procedures, technical drawings, schematics, and quality requirements.
- Drive effective cross‑functional communication by leading daily meetings, facilitating discussions, providing constructive feedback, participating in Tier 2 reviews, and adapting communication styles to various audiences.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives, drive issue resolution, ensure accountability, and sustain actions through completion.
- Plan and schedule work within the production area, delegate assignments effectively, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with operational priorities.
- Own and drive Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (QDIP) metrics through data analysis, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead root‑cause investigations, facilitate structured problem‑solving activities (PSPs), drive corrective and preventive actions, and ensure sustainable improvements are maintained.
- Develop, revise, and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, visual aids, and training materials in partnership with Production Engineering and R&D.
- Develop technical capability across the team through structured training, cross‑functional skill development, certification, and succession planning.
- Audit manufacturing processes and quality standards to ensure compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Sustain improvements through regular follow‑up on actions, commitments, and cross‑functional initiatives to ensure long‑term effectiveness and accountability.
- Provide technical support to production personnel and serve as a subject matter expert for manufacturing processes, equipment, and product requirements.
- Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and reporting to support traceability, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Minimum of a 2‑year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Strong technical background in electronics assembly, soldering, testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing operations.
- Proficient in reading, interpreting, and applying technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, coaching, facilitation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven ability to balance hands‑on technical responsibilities while effectively managing team priorities, resources, and deadlines.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts through ownership of PSPs, quality audits, 5S sustainment, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and process standardization.

Hourly rate: $38.00 – $40.00 USD, eligible for bonus pay.
