The Chemical Mechanical Planarization manufacturing business is seeking a Site Manufacturing Technology Leader at the site in Newark, Delaware. The CMP facilities consist of polymer manufacturing, film coating, and numerous converting operations such as buffing, grooving and finishing. The role is accountable for the technical health of those operations: process capability, yield, uptime, capacity, and leading solutions aligned with the technology roadmap that keeps the site competitive.
The Site Manufacturing Technology Leader is a working leader. The position combines people leadership of the site Manufacturing Technology Execution group with personal technical ownership of the site’s most consequential process and equipment problems. Success is measured by safe and compliant operation, delivered process improvements, effective basic data for capital project support, and the depth of technical capability built in the team over time.
The role reports to the Director, Manufacturing Technology Execution and works closely with the Site Leadership Team, Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and the business R&D organization. This position manages the objectives and performance of the Newark CMP Manufacturing Technology Execution organization, including direct and indirect reports. The group is a multi‑disciplined team of engineers that delivers the technology and process capability needed to safely operate, maintain, and improve the manufacturing operations.
The role aligns site programs and activities with business strategy and provides the manufacturing and quality improvements necessary to compete in high‑growth, fast‑paced markets. The role provides technology ownership while partnering with Operations on execution and Site Engineering on engineered solutions.
- Lead the site Manufacturing Technology Execution organization, including engineers and technical specialists supporting site operations.
- Set technical priorities for the group and balance resources across improvement work, capital support, troubleshooting, and daily operational demand.
- Renew, retain, and develop the technical competency of the site engineering resources; mentor and coach engineers at all levels of experience.
- Work with stakeholders to create a prioritized annual execution plan in support of the site technology roadmap.
- Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and represent Manufacturing Technology in site governance, staffing, and business reviews.
- Leverage capability from other sites, corporate engineering functions, and contractor partners where site resources are insufficient.
- Provide mentoring and support to the Run Plant Engineers within CMP, who report through the Operations team with a dotted‑line relationship to the Site Manufacturing Technology Leader.
- Interface with key business leaders to resolve issues and reconcile competing priorities.
- Coordinate the leveraging of manufacturing technology resources across the site and the broader organization to improve effectiveness.
- Provide technical expertise and direction that improves competitive advantage in the manufacturing of CMP pads, spanning incremental improvements through major technology changes.
