We’re hiring a Corporate Communications Specialist for a hybrid contract opportunity with a leading company in the energy and utilities space. This role is a great fit for someone who brings a strong background in writing, editing, content coordination, and project management
, and who is comfortable supporting a variety of high-visibility communications initiatives.
This position will focus roughly 60% on writing/content development and 40% on project coordination
, though that may shift based on business needs. The right person will be highly detail-oriented and confident managing sensitive and important communications projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate regulatory advertising, notices, and required communications with internal stakeholders and external creative or advertising agencies
- Manage content calendars, workback schedules, and review processes across multiple communications projects
- Support the development, review, and publishing of customer-facing and corporate content
- Partner with brand, design, social media, media, and web teams to keep projects moving on time
- Update and review website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand voice
- Conduct content audits and support broader external communications and marketing activities
- Use AI language tools to generate, refine, and optimize high-quality web and public-facing content
- Support social media community management by monitoring comments, direct messages, and mentions and responding in a timely, on-brand manner
- Help coordinate logistics, scheduling, and content opportunities tied to reliability, safety, and community infrastructure initiatives
- Track budgets, support reporting, and escalate sensitive issues as needed
- 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, content, marketing communications, public relations, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines at once
- Familiarity using AI language models to support public-facing written content
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams and external agencies
- Experience with content calendars, content reviews, and publishing workflows
- Strong judgment and professionalism when handling sensitive communications
- Experience or interest in the energy or utility industry
- SEO-conscious web content experience
- Social media community management experience
- Background supporting regulated or highly visible communications
