Marketing Communications, Content Writer / Copywriter
The Marketing Department is looking for a Pursuits & Awards Specialist to help our AEC and commercial real estate clients win the work, tell better stories, and get the recognition they deserve.
This role lives at the intersection of proposals, storytelling, organization, and strategy. You’ll manage RFP and RFQ responses, coordinate award submissions, wrangle information from very busy people, and turn a lot of moving pieces into polished, compelling submissions.
If you love a deadline, have strong opinions about formatting, can spot a typo from across the room, and know how to turn technical information into something people actually want to read, you may be our person.
What You’ll Do- Manage RFP, RFQ, SOQ, and other pursuit responses from kickoff through final submission.
- Review solicitation requirements and build clear compliance matrices, schedules, and work plans.
- Coordinate with client teams to gather project information, resumes, references, statistics, and other required materials.
- Write, edit, and refine proposal content so it is clear, compelling, and specific to the opportunity.
- Help identify differentiators, win themes, and the stories that make a team stand out.
- Manage deadlines, reviews, revisions, and final production without letting anything fall through the cracks.
- Maintain and improve proposal libraries, resumes, project sheets, boilerplate content, and other pursuit resources.
- Occasionally support interview preparation, presentation materials, and pursuit strategy.
- Research relevant industry awards and recognition opportunities for our clients.
- Maintain award calendars and identify upcoming deadlines.
- Evaluate opportunities and help determine which projects, people, or firms are strong candidates.
- Manage award submissions from start to finish.
- Interview project teams and pull out the details that make a project worth talking about.
- Write and edit compelling award narratives that go beyond project facts and explain why the work matters
. - Coordinate photography, project information, credits, supporting materials, and submission requirements.
- Track submissions, results, and opportunities to repurpose award content across other marketing channels.
You’re organized enough to keep multiple deadlines straight without breaking a sweat, but creative enough to know that checking every box isn’t what makes a proposal good (but it is what makes it compliant).
You like making complicated information clearer. You ask good questions. You can chase down missing information without making everyone hate you. You understand that sometimes the difference between fine and fantastic is another round of editing.
You’re also comfortable moving between clients, industries, personalities, and priorities. Agency/consulting life means there’s rarely just one thing happening at a time.
What We’re Looking For- Experience in proposals, marketing, communications, business development, or a related role.
- AEC and/or commercial real estate experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is required. You should be comfortable working independently within existing templates, creating templates, formatting complex proposal documents, managing styles and master pages, placing and editing content, and producing polished, submission-ready PDFs.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
- Strong project management and deadline-management skills.
- Ability to interpret detailed RFP/RFQ requirements and translate them into an actionable plan.
- Comfortable interviewing technical professionals and turning their expertise into clear, engaging content.
- Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger strategy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office,…
