Rainier Athletes (RA) champions the unlimited possibility of our youth in and out of the classroom by igniting connection through 1:1 mentorship, self-discovery, and access to opportunity. Each RA student is paired with a dedicated mentor who meets with them weekly, from 4th grade through high school graduation and beyond.

Students are fully sponsored to participate in the sports and activities of their choice, from robotics to baseball.

Our org was founded in 2013 with one mentor and three students at one school, and now we’ve grown to a community of over 1,000 students, mentors, family members, teachers, and coaches at 15 sites across the Bellevue School District. This past year, RA’s first cohort of students graduated from college!

Position

Summary

With a focus on administration and development, the Development Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Director of Development Systems and Communications, the Manager of Community Investments to support RA’s revenue and resource development goals. Duties will include: ensuring the organization’s data is accurate, assisting with donor communications, providing logistical support for fundraising events and campaigns, leading administrative projects that streamline the team’s work, and other projects, as assigned.

CRM and Data Maintenance
  • Ensure that information in the Salesforce CRM is accurate and complete.
  • Ensure a timely and accurate gift entry and acknowledgement process for all gifts, including documentation and follow up of verbal and written pledges, as well as in-kind donations.
  • Work with the Director of Development Systems and Communications to continuously improve database processes and tracking, including updating gift entry policies as needed.
  • Generate fundraising reports, including campaign specific reports.
  • Work with bookkeeper to complete monthly gift receipt and pledge reconciliation.
Donor Relations and Development Support
  • Support the Development leadership in managing relationships with donors, prospects, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate donor and prospect recordstrack interactions, and ensure timely touchpoints in the donor management system.
  • Assist with researching, building, and maintaining donor and prospect lists and files. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Manager of Community Investments to track moves management steps for donors.
  • Prepare solicitation lists for campaigns and coordinate data needs for email and direct mail efforts.
  • Support with grant reports, invoices, and applications as needed.
  • Treat all donors with utmost respect and maintain confidentiality; deeply valuing all gifts of time and money (at any level or amount); and appreciating the role our donors play in a larger ecosystem of partners that together contribute to the success of RA.
  • Commit to ongoing journey of learning and growth around development practices that advance equity and center community.
Events
  • Support planning and implementation of organization’s special events, including record keeping and logistics.
  • Represent Rainier Athletes at community events, networking opportunities, and fundraising activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Development/Communications team on donor-facing materials, such as newsletters and event invitations.
Administrative Support
  • Respond to external inquiries from hello email address.
  • Support with preparation, coordination, and note taking for board and committee meetings.
