The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care. The RN ensures care is delivered safely and effectively according to physician orders, facility policies, and regulatory standards. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident health, comfort, and well-being.

Reporting:
This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities Assess residents’ physical and mental health status and develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications and treatments safely according to physician orders and facility protocols.

Monitor, record, and communicate changes in residents’ conditions to the care team.

Educate residents and families on care plans, health management, and preventive strategies.

Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and resident care conferences.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care, interventions, and outcomes.

Ensure compliance with infection control practices, safety standards, and resident rights.

Provide mentorship and guidance to licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.

Participate in facility quality improvement initiatives, in-services, and continuing education programs.

Education and License Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).Current, active Washington State RN license.

Experience Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Skills Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to follow care plans, collaborate with team members, and provide resident-centered care.

Compassionate, patient, and committed to quality resident care.

Physical ability to safely assist residents and perform nursing duties including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.

Working Conditions Skilled Nursing Facility environment with direct interaction with residents, staff, and visitors.

May involve walking, standing, lifting, and exposure to bodily fluids and infectious materials.

Must be able to cope with the stresses of working in a 24-hour care environment serving elderly and medically complex residents.
