Seasonal Farm Assistant

Cluster Flock Farms and Vineyard is a LGBTQIA+ women owned and run 25 acre diversified farm and regenerative space in the stunning Columbia Gorge at the border of Washington and Oregon. We have 5 acres of winegrapes underplanted with flowers and herbs, ½ acre of intensely managed flowers including 2000 sq/ft of new high tunnel space, ¼ acre of vegetable production, 10 acres of forested area plus 9 acres of potential pasture for occasional rotational grazing of available animals.

We are hiring to fill 2 part time farm crew roles for the 2026 season. We are a small team and work closely together. Applicants must demonstrate a sense of humor, good work ethic and a strong understanding of the physical nature of farming. As a Farm Assistant, you’ll work in a small-team, high‑stewardship role where you contribute to every part of production.

I am looking for someone who cares, notices details, moves efficiently, problem‑solves, and takes real pride in the results.

• Crop & Field Work:
  Bed prep, seed starting, transplanting, weeding, cultivating, watering, harvesting, pruning, composting, shaping beds, irrigation installation and repair, and pest management
• Maintenance:
  Upkeep of work, design and tool areas, equipment, trellising, hoop houses and general farm infrastructure
• Harvest, Bouquets & Distribution:
  Harvesting, bunching, bouquet making, and assisting with farmers' market, florist deliveries or CSA
• Volunteer & Community:
  Coordinating with WWOOF volunteers, event help, and engaging with the public
• Record Keeping & Admin:
  Logging planting/harvesting data, occasional help with social media and promotional tasks

• No farm experience necessary but…
• Ability to work quickly
• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely
• Desire to contribute to a positive, collaborative farm team
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically capable of demanding tasks and working outdoors in various weather
• Willingness to learn about and use farm equipment (tractors, UTVs) and hand tools
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills for record‑keeping/email

Physicality: The role is physically demanding and you need to be able to lift 40lbs, bend, squat, kneel, and work outdoors in some difficult weather. Good physical condition and stamina is essential to this position.

Schedule:

Seasonal help only. March/April‑Oct/November. 6 hours per day, 3 times per week with some longer days up to 8 hours. Great ‘mom’ hours or folks who have been in the restaurant industry. 18‑20 hrs/week

Learning: Opportunities to learn sustainable flower farming, regenerative viticulture, food production and equipment operation.

• Compensation $18‑$22/hr DOE
