About the PositionThe Kitchen Assistant supports the Head Cook and Assistant Cook in all aspects of kitchen operations. This role helps prepare and serve meals and is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining hall.
Compensation for this position is $95 - $105 per day, with the starting rate dependent on previous employment at GSWW camps.
Camp Season 2026 will run from June 7th through August 18th, with start and end dates determined by position. Overnight camp staff will divide their summer between Camp Robbins wold (located in Lilliwaup, WA) and Camp St. Albans (located in Allyn, WA). They will begin ans for the first week of training, then transition to Robbins wold for the second week. Staff will work three one‑week camper sessions at Robbins wold, take a short break, and then complete three sessions ans.
RequirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operations of the camp’s food service, including preparing food according to the menu, ensuring proper storage of food and leftovers, and completing daily cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Assist in routine sanitation of the kitchen and related equipment including cleaning and maintaining all food preparation and storage areas and prep, serving, and dining hall dishes
- Carry out established duties for general camp operations including camp cleaning, season opening and closing tasks, and completion of necessary paperwork

- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to food service
