Job Summary

The Designated Selling Associate (DSA) sales role is responsible for driving volume for Nordstrom while championing the brands they represent. DSAs lead in customer service, product knowledge education, merchandising, and selling, working one‑on‑one with customers to cultivate and sustain relationships and provide style advice.

• Set and achieve sales goals for both in‑store and digital selling, using tools such as text, social media, and reservations.
• Build lasting relationships with customers and provide personalized service on their terms, including flexibility to work in other departments if needed.
• Give honest and confident feedback to customers about style, fit, and the value that a piece will add to their wardrobe.
• Seek ongoing fashion and product knowledge through meetings and trainings to build expertise.
• Conduct DSA‑run product knowledge meetings with other DSAs, stylists, and surrounding departments.
• Provide product feedback to the District Manager to improve store assortment.
• Drive predictable business through appointment‑based selling during event and non‑event time frames.
• Collaborate with the team to keep the department customer ready—stocking, re‑merchandising, display, price markdowns, merchandise transfers, and cleaning.
• Grow sales by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.

• Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Handling bulky or awkwardly shaped items that may require lifting above the head.
• Regularly lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Hourly pay: $23.45–$23.45. Commission for apparel, shoes, and accessories ranges from 3% to 14.5%; beauty and men’s fragrance roles receive 3%. Pay offers vary by location, and the position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives or bonuses.
