Pay

The Starting Hourly Rate is $22.50 USD per hour. The Pay Range is $22.50 - $33.65 USD per hour.

Assets Protection teams keep guests, team members, and the brand secure. They mitigate shortage risks, prevent, and resolve theft and fraud to ensure products are available for guests. They also build relationships with store leaders and public safety officials, including law enforcement.

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe and secure.
• Respond to crises, manage safety and crowds, and provide support to guests and team members.
• Utilize de‑escalation techniques and physical security controls.
• Operate Target’s video surveillance system.
• Document cases accurately using case‑management systems.
• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
• Greet guests warmly and assist with locating items or resolving issues.
• Thank guests sincerely at each transaction.
• Support team efforts, assist peers, and maintain a positive, respectful attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture by maintaining safe standards throughout the store, including exterior property.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
• Use de‑escalation tactics when responding to incidents.
• Recover merchandise theft losses and support apprehension as needed, following AP policies.
• Prevent theft and shortage by performing receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Submit appropriate documentation in the case‑management system per AP policy.
• Apply Target’s video surveillance system correctly.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work safely at all times and comply with all safety policies and training.
• Perform all other duties as required by business needs.

• Enjoy interacting and helping guests and team members.
• Thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, physically demanding environment.
• Work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcome and help all guests and team members.
• Communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment, accomplishing multiple tasks within established time frames.

• Climb up and down ladders.
• Apprehend subjects in accordance with company policy.
• Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 40 pounds without assistance.
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
• Remain mobile throughout the scheduled shift.
