On-Call Shelter Staff:

Are you passionate about creating safe, supportive environments for those in need? We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Shelter Staff on an on-call basis. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the well-being of shelter residents, overseeing daily operations, and providing a stable, welcoming space for both clients and volunteers.

• Monitor the facility and oversee daily operations.
• Support clients through crisis intervention and apply trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shelter; assist with meal setups.
• Communicate critical information to leadership for effective follow-up.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and grow within the role.

On-call staff are typically guaranteed at least one shift per month, with the possibility of additional shifts based on shelter needs. We are specifically looking for coverage for Overnight shifts 11:00 p.m.–7:15 a.m., with occasional opportunities to cover other shifts as needed. You will have the flexibility to step in when required, contributing to the mission while maintaining a work-life balance.

• Associate's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field; experience working with homeless populations.
• Strong communication skills, basic computer skills, and the physical capacity to perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Base hourly rate of $25.68. On-call staff have access to the Employee Assistance Program and are eligible for free virtual primary and mental health care through First Stop Health.
