We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with knowledge in Kubernetes and Go (Golang) to join our VCF Cluster Management team. In this role, you will lead discussions, architect solutions, and drive implementation of complex distributed systems, translating business requirements into technical solutions.

• Lead design and delivery of new products and processes with wide functional breadth and depth to achieve innovative and effective solutions to complex problems.
• Lead the design and development of highly scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems and consult with management on long-term goals, technology selection, and system interoperability.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to multiple engineering teams, driving best practices in software development, design patterns, code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Contribute hands-on implementation of core system components, setting an example for code quality and engineering excellence.
• Act as a key troubleshooter and problem-solver to identify and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, QA, and other engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends related to distributed systems, cloud computing, and virtualization, proposing and prototyping innovative solutions.
• Ensure systems meet stringent performance, scalability, and security requirements.

• 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years focusing on distributed systems.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with distributed systems concepts, technologies, and patterns (microservices, distributed databases, messaging queues, consensus algorithms, fault tolerance, consistency models).
• Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms (VMware vSphere, AWS, Azure, GCP) and underlying infrastructure.
• Proficiency in one or more of Go, Java, Python, C++.
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols applicable to distributed systems.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in a collaborative high-performance environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration, open-source distributed systems frameworks, contributions to open-source projects, CI/CD pipelines, and Dev Ops practices.

The annual base salary range for this position is $127,100 - $203,400. The position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity awards. Broadcom offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision plans; 401(k) with company matching;
