** Role Description
** Salesforce is seeking an exceptional Member of Technical Staff (MTS) & Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to serve as a lead and contributor for our next-generation Cybersecurity Data Platform. In this high-impact individual contributor (IC) role, you will be responsible for the technical design and hands-on implementation of a scalable, high-quality platform that powers critical security data flows. You will act as a technical pillar, building core capabilities including data ingestion, processing, storage, APIs, and analytics integration, ensuring the system is both robust and developer-friendly.

You will drive the platform's technical evolution, solving complex distributed systems challenges and working cross-functionally with data producers and consumers to ensure seamless integration. While this is an IC role, your influence will be broad; you will provide technical guidance to peers, set engineering standards, and help envision the transition of this platform into a multi-tenant SaaS product. Your work will empower internal stakeholders and ensure Salesforce scales its business impact securely and efficiently.
** Responsibilities
* ** Technical Leadership & Strategy
* Architect and implement the technical roadmap for the Security Data Platform, ensuring it meets long-term scalability and security requirements.
* Drive the technical design for evolving the platform into a multi-tenant SaaS product capable of serving global customers.
* Platform Engineering & Implementation
* Lead the hands-on development of scalable, secure, and reliable platform capabilities using Apache Spark, AWS S3, and streaming/batch pipelines.
* Design and build self-service onboarding tools for data producers and high-performance APIs for data consumers.
* Technical Collaboration
* Partner with data producers to architect high-quality data ingestion patterns, resolving complex structural inconsistencies at the source.
* Act as a technical consultant for internal stakeholders, translating business and security needs into actionable technical specifications.
* Influence technical decisions across teams to ensure architectural alignment and overcome integration bottlenecks.
* Operational Excellence & Performance
* Define and implement robust monitoring, alerting, and automated testing frameworks to guarantee data integrity and platform reliability.
* Perform deep-dive performance tuning and cost-optimization across all platform components and cloud infrastructure.
* Technical Mentorship & Quality
* Elevate the engineering bar by conducting rigorous code reviews, defining best practices, and mentoring junior/mid-level engineers.
* Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the engineering community.
