Role SummaryManufacturing systems engineering (MSE) under Project Kuiper Prod‑Ops is responsible for delivering software solutions that improve speed and quality of Kuiper manufacturing systems. We partner with engineering and production teams to bring reliability and repeatability to our systems, improve throughput and accelerate the transition. We are looking for a software engineer with experience delivering software solutions that scale as we increase manufacturing throughput.
The ideal candidate is a full‑stack engineer with hands‑on experience in programming languages such as Python, Rust, Type Script, or Java; AWS cloud services; building large‑scale web applications; and at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements to implementation, deployment, and operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as factory planners and technicians to launch customer‑centric software solutions that scale.
- Lead technical projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as satellite software and hardware engineering teams.
- Design flexible solutions for complex problems with multiple unknowns and excellent performance & reliability.
- Utilize AWS infrastructure and services such as Lambda, IAM, SNS/SQS, Document DB, API Gateway, Cloud Watch, IoT, and others.
- Design and implement production‑quality web applications that are secure and accessibility compliant.
- Mentor fellow engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.
The Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team is responsible for building standardized, automated, and scalable manufacturing systems. Our mission is to transform engineering inputs into production‑ready solutions in shop floor management tools, automated testing for chambers, calibration and provisioning of manufacturing systems, and optimized test station design and infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Base salary ranges:
- USA, CA, Sunnyvale – – USD annually
- USA, WA, Bellevue – – USD annually
