The Last Mile team helps deliver packages from delivery stations to customers' doorsteps. Our tech team leads innovations, building a globally connected fleet of smart delivery vehicles—both gasoline and future electric models—using edge IoT technologies, real‑time data streams, machine learning models, and automotive engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deploy edge‑computing software solutions for the fleet, spanning from IoT sensors, cameras, wearables, and embedded systems to cloud‑based analytics platforms.
- Develop and optimize embedded software (C/C++, RTOS, Linux) for resource‑constrained edge devices, including firmware for sensors and vehicle compute modules, ensuring real‑time performance, low‑latency processing, and reliability in automotive environments.
- Build and optimize real‑time data streaming systems for video, vehicle telematics, location tracking, and presence detection at fleet scale.
- Own the full software development lifecycle—requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Drive technical decisions on connected device protocols, data formats, and communication standards across the edge‑to‑cloud architecture.
- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is USD – annually (USA, WA, Bellevue). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
