AI Software Engineer – Analytics Agent
Salesforce is seeking a passionate and highly skilled AI/SW Engineer to join our team in Tableau building the #1 AI‑powered analytics agents for helping customers see, understand, and act on data. The role focuses on building scalable, data‑intensive systems for analytics, shaping user experiences with generative AI, and ensuring robust performance.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to build next‑generation generative AI products and prototypes that deliver customer success.
- Propose and rapidly iterate on ideas and experiments, achieving product‑market fit for cutting‑edge analytics agents.
- Build and shape user experiences using context engineering and generative AI capabilities.
- Design and build scalable and performant agentic systems, considering throughput, latency, parallel processing, stream processing, and asynchronous I/O.
- Evaluate performance and quality of agentic solutions against customer use cases.
- Address challenges with probabilistic software, defensive error handling, streaming data optimization, caching, and explainability.
- Implement logging, tracing mechanisms, and tools for debugging, diagnostics, and performance tracking.
- Engage in light Dev Ops tasks, leveraging infrastructure best practices to deploy and monitor AI‑driven systems.
- 10+ years of enterprise engineering experience.
- Adaptable and innovative mindset; fearless about learning new technologies and comfortable in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
- Problem‑first approach with a principled methodology for building resilient systems.
- Expertise in shaping experiences with LLMs and agents.
- Proficiency in evaluating ML model performance.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or other languages.
- Full‑stack application experience, with expertise in backend, frontend, or both.
- Experience handling error cases, writing asynchronous code, and working effectively with streaming data.
- Professional experience developing, scaling, and maintaining production‑scale applications.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops principles, infrastructure best practices, cloud‑based deployments, queues, message buses, and event‑driven architectures.
